from the 1997 Riviera I pulled my 3800SC from, Before I pulled it, it was putting out a code (Can't remember the # now) that the MAF was bad. the engine is now all rebuilt but I have not bought a new MAF yet. If it is indeed bad, what would the engine act like ? Thanks

Sympoms of a bad MAF depend on how badly the MAF is corroded or failing. Typically though, you'll have some form of hesitation and poor performance.

When the MAF just short of fails, the car is almost undriveable there's so much hesitation and stalling.

I guess AFTER I get it running, I'll check the Codes and see. I'll probably put in a new MAF anyway
