I HAVE AN OPPOURTUNITY TO PURCHASE THIS CAR,,,2000-01 BUICK GS WITH A 3800 S/C ENGINE WITH A BAD TRANS, IF I CHOOSE TO USE THIS ENGINE WHAT TRANS WILL OR CAN I USE, WILL THE ORIGINAL MANUAL 4 SPEED WORK,OR IS IT BEST TO GO WITH AN AUTO, I PREFER THE ROAD OF LEAST RESISTANCE, not the sharpest tool with all the computer jargin i see on here all the time,,i would really need to K. I. S. S . ANY ANF ALL INFO IS WELCOME, PRO AND CON THANKS

Easiest and most reliable is to go with the 4T65E auto that comes with these engines but if you want the pleasure of a manual tranny the Fiero V6 4 speed works well as well as the Fiero V6 5 speed getrag. A little more work can get you either the Getrag F23 5 speed or the G6 F40 6 speed manual
