What harm / damage can happen running the engine with out a thermostat? I just realized recently I forgot to install my thermostat when I did my 3.8SC swap

After all the work, It's time to drive it!!

On a street car, the common side effect of no thermostat is running rich. Thermal management is a key element of fuel injection, and without a properly warmed up engine the car may stay in open loop and rich mixture too long or all the time, leading to fouled plugs, carbon deposits, a worn-out catalytic converter, and other such issues. It's less of a problem if you spend hours a day in traffic, and more of a problem if you do short trips or spend lots of time cruising on the freeway - especially in low ambient temps.

What tempeture Thermostat are you guys running on you 3.8 SC swaps?
