Auto to manual swap, pilot shaft bushing. by JHarvey

in the middle of doing an auto to manual swap. 2.8 motor and 4 speed trans (previously on 85 gt)
my clutch kit came with a pilot shaft bearing but it wont go into my crank... i read somewhere that fieros dont
require one?

No pilot bushing is used with any of the manual Fiero transmissions.

Fix the oil leak and clean up that mess.

Oil leak there can/will cause clutch problem.

that mess was from the automatic transmission.

I agree with the others, the transverse manual transmissions do not require a pilot bearing/bushing. The clutch kit is universal and is used for some longitudinal cars as well...those would require the the pilot bearing.

These guys are right. The Fiero doesn't use a pilot bushing. But generic clutch kits will often include one.
