I have an 88 ttop 2.5 interior is like new. I have a lot of paint fade on the roof rails and the hood. What should I use to strip it down to the surface before I can paint it ? Any help is greatly appreciated.

Can you post a picture? It depends on the condition of the clear coat. If the clear coat has separated or cracked you need to sand it off.

Prob need to sand it down to at least the base color. I use 320-400 grit automotive sandpaper. If your going to primer it (recommended), you can go with up to 180. Then you sand the primer with 320-400. Dont use any finer or paint may not grip well. Other places where the clear is OK, not peeling or covered with white specks, it just needs sanded till its completely dull with the 320-400.
