2.8 v6. Idles high when coming to a stop, idle slowly drops and check engine light comes on, code 32. Light goes out once I start driving again.

The vacuum activated solenoid for the EGR may be moving slowly or hung up. There are a number of good threads on how to troubleshoot and rebuild the thing, and there used to be rebuilt ones available in the mall.
