Look for large cracks and/or deterioration of the rubber. If in doubt, just replace. They are cheap from places like Rock Auto.

Replaced mine when I found out the rattle in the engine was the worn out dog bone. Rebuilt it and it would not line up, the front and rear mounts had collapsed.
