Are the valve guides on replaceable on the fiero V6 heads?? (what the valve goes up and down in)

Or is the only option is to purchase a new pair of heads from GM...? (2.8L or 3.4L heads)

Thanks,

a competent machinist can drill and install bronze valve guides in the iron heads.

I had SI bronze guides installed in my 2.8 heads along with SI stainless valves. Didn't cost too much.

That was quite a bump.....your question was 2 years ago! Did you get your valve guides fixed?

Nope, not yet. Probably just going to find new heads and assemble from there.

A source for these bronze guides would be helpful.

The critical part is the machinist. If you find a qualified auto head rebuilder, he should supply the guides and guarantee the work.
