I think the mounts in the frame for both the bolts on the back of the engine cradle have broken loose and I can't get the bolts out to drop the cradle. Has this happened to anyone else? Thanks

very common, you can either cut a hole in the side of the frame to replace/reweld the nuts, or take off the rear bumper and try to reach them through the frame.

You can try soaking them good with penatrating oil, but if they are already spinning you will still need to get to the back side of them.

I just dropped my cradle today, loosened the bolts days ago. I hate having to patch and or cut so I took the rear metal impact bumper off and reached a wrench in and stuck it on the nut then proceeded to take the bolt out. You can put it back in this way too with no welding but mind you it will still spin so you may eventually have to do it all over again.

You can remove the rear fascia in about 30 minutes or less. It is not hard. This exposes the rear flange nuts that typically break loose from the spot welds and start spinning in the frame when rusted. We spray with PB Blaster, wait a few minutes, then grab those nuts with a faucet wrench and use an impact from below. Works every time. The front cradle bolts can be the real dogs when they rust to the bolts. We use an air chisel on them along the parting line to pry them away from the bolts so that they can be pushed out.

I just finished getting the engine and transmission out and apart. I ended up cutting and welding the nut back down.
