Has anyone here ever buy a marmount brand V6 exhaust for their fiero?? It looks very close to the Walker brand exhaust.

Just wondering if it sounds like stock, louder or quieter. I seen one at the local auto parts store and it says "made in USA" stamped on the muffler.

Thanks,

it has to be a fake.. nothing is made in the USA anymore... ok ok.. i'm kidding.. No i'm not sure about that brand of exhaust. even the walker pipes are kinda hmm.. not so good to look at but i'm sure with any new muffler it will be quieter for a little while. I hadn't realized how expensive those things were till I had to replace a y pipe on mine.. Yikes. good luck to ya whichever ya decide to buy.

I think it's just the standard stock replacement at AutoZone. They seem to have Maremont exhaust, while Advance and NAPA have Walker (though I think NAPA might have both). It probably sounds very close to stock, as it's not a performance system.

I installed a Maremont cat-back system on my 86 GT three years ago when I rebuilt it. From the first picture, you can see that they have the crimped style bends, not the mandrel, full diameter bends of the original (second picture). Apart from that, the system was perfectly formed and I was able to use all of the retaining springs unlike some others I've heard about where a lot of tweaking has to be done to get it to fit somewhat close to original. It's hard to say if the Maremont system sounds like stock because in truth, it's been a long time since I've heard a Fiero with an OEM muffler. The exhaust system in the second picture didn't have a catalytic converter so it was louder than mine with the Maremont... but overall I'd say it sounds as close to stock as I remember.
