I have the pretty switch on the dash, but no mechanism on the trunk latch??? Wtf? Anybody have any ideas?

Somebody wanted to add it to the car, and never finished the retrofit?

Maybe so. It does have the plug and harness on the back of the switch.

Ogre's Cave has instructions for adding the trunk release. I'd go through that to see what you have, and what you still need.
