Will 17 inch 96 mustang GT rims fit on my fiero (85gt)? They are 5 lug but that's all I know.
Thank you.

Thank you. Is there a list of what 17 inch wheels will fit? That would be very helpful.
I'm not talking about numbers per say . More like what year make and models will work on the fiero.

Are there any adapters that would make the 96 ford mustang rims work?

Probably not the wheels would likley stick out too far even without adapters, and adapters will make them stick out even farther, and can be hard on wheel bearings too.
Have a pic of the wheels you like? Maybe there can be a similar style found that will easily fit Fiero.

Tire rack has a lot of sizes and styles:

It wasnt really the style per say, just a good price mostly that caught my eye. Here's the ad
http://easttexas.craigslist.../pts/4507710627.html
Ill keep looking.
Is there a way of finding what make and model wheels WILL fit the fiero?

5 bolt holes 100mm apart. (5 x 100) after that its offset and center hole diameter being large enough.

a good search, just type "other wheels":

I would be careful buying used wheels. My 85 GT has very nice looking 16 inch wheels that were on the car when I bought it. They were shaking the car pretty bad when I first drove it but I thought it was the old tires on the car. When I had new tires mounted they discovered that two of them had lateral run out caused by being curbed. There is no way to balance that out so now I will have to replace them. As soon as funds permit I plan on getting a new set from Tirerack. I had checked into getting them fixed but the specialist wanted $150 per wheel to straighten them. For a little over a hundred more I can buy 4 new ones.

I saw this set, a good deal but no tires with it.

http://newyork.craigslist.o.../pts/4536617456.html

I emailed the guy and I'm waiting for a return email.

Nice price, those would be easy to resell too due to the 2 size fit.
Tires..well the Mustang set only had 2 usable ones anyway from the sound of it, and they had "about 75%" left. I find people over estimate this. If there is one thing out there on cars worth buying new its tires IMO. Alot of places throw mount and balance in free, sometimes lifetime, and you can also then get road hazard warranties if you are into that.

They need to throw in mount and balance because the shipping will kill you.

Ok, if I go with the 16 x 7 and I'm installing the eibcah lowering springs, what's the widest tire I can go with that won't rub in the wheel well? The 16x7 rims I'm looking at say they have a +38 offset. I don't really understand that so I'm inquiring about tire size here.
Thank you!

In my experience, the 16 inch wheels will ride about the same as the 15 inch ones, but 17 inch make the ride rougher.

Just for a frame of reference, just about anything that will look good on a Volkswagen New Beetle will also look good on a Fiero. Width, diameter, offset. (~35mm offset.) The only exception is the front of an 88. Then, use "Subaru" wheels. (They have an offset of between 40 and 50 mm) Some Toyota or Scion wheels also have the correct (5x100) bolt pattern.

This is more for aftermarket wheels. If you use stock Subaru or Toyota wheels, the bolt pattern is correct, but you will have to bore out the center to 57mm. Volkswagen wheels should bolt right up.

I recently replaced my wheels and tires from Discount Tire Direct.

http://www.discounttiredirect.com/direct/home.do

They have a large variety of wheels and tires. They mounted and balanced and shipped to my door free.

I was very pleased and the prices were reasonable especially considering the mounting, balancing and shipping.

Ok here's another candidate he says they were on his jaguar x type but they do have two sets of lug holes. I emailed to ask if they fit 5x100 and I'm waiting on a response

http://newhaven.craigslist.org/pts/4546581125.html

Hopefully they fit and they come with tires.

Any ideas? Please let me know if you know they will
Not fit.
