88GT - 25,000 miles.

My oil pressure gauge reads high. Done a lot of looking on this site and others to find possible problems.

I couldn't locate the oil pressure sending unit. MMmmmm. Odd.

Then I come across this:

Pulled it off and took these photos

Pulled it off. It was covering the oil pressure sending unit.

It's an abs pipe with a cover on one end. It's got some lining in it. It's wrapped in electrical tape and proper duct tape.

The sending unit has not been moved as per the TSB.

The oil pressure sending unit on our cars are prone to getting wet. Do you think someone did this to prevent that problem?

Georgia Fieros has an 88GT to be given to a Wounded Warrior. Saturday while the members were working on it, we found a small plastic bottle, maybe 4 oz. size, with the bottom cut out. It had the harness for the oil pressure sender slipped through the neck and the bottle was placed down over the sender as a rain shield.
