Contemplating redoing a total interior. Are there any dash's that lend themselves to an easier replacement of the current dash than others? This will also probably come with an engine swap also. Right now I am considering a 3800 maybe from a Grand Prix. Would the Grand Prix Dash be too big? Considering buying a whole car? Also what about air conditioning? Is it easier to swap rather than convert?

------------------
1988 GT, Automatic, running - bought in Illinois and drove to Austin
1986 SE, 4 cyl, 5 speed running - Bought in California and drove to Austin
1988 GT, T-Top - non running - "Trailered" back from California going to be restored (in storage)
1986 GT, highly modified engine/exhaust, but slave/clutch issue - Trailered back from Las Cruces, NM Chop-top candidate (in storage)
1986 SE, bought locally, Automatic won't shift into gear - Chop-top candidate (in storage)

I know Rickaddy did a Firebird dash swap. Why don't you send him a PM?

here is a grand prix interior in a Fiero kit car.

BUT they got rid of the gas tank and put a fuel cell up front.

They did WHAT!!!!!!!!!!

Nice pic, the dash looks like it belongs there. I line the mirrors on the 1998 Grand Prix also. They would look nice on a Fiero Chop-top

There isn't one! Otherwise, I'd have done it already.

They all have their challenges and some are more work than others.
But frankly I haven't seen one where I tell myself "I just gotta have THAT one..." - yet!

I have, It is in a Bugatti Veyron...............................LOL

Seriously though this one really looks good to me also. I just want something that will modernize the look of the interior, and not look out-of-place. The dash is just one piece of the puzzle, but a major one because you and the passenger always have it in your line-of-sight.

Cool - but it's still cost+work to install vs "how much do you really gain"?

This is exactly why I'm considering just doing a custom dash/interior. At the end of the day, most of the dash swaps that have been done just don't quite look "right" to me. They may be well done, but they all look a bit off for some reason.

That being said, it would probably be easier to swap an interior than do a custom, one-off.
