Hey 4.9ers, has anyone stumbled upon a thread that rectifies the 4.9's demand for premium fuel? I'm not stupid enough to run regular grade in it, but if the knock threat is fixed with a distributor change or some sort of swap-in knock sensor (is that a thing?), I would be interested. Anyone got links or experience? Sorry if this question has been done to death but I can't find it in search.

Google quote - Both the 4.9 and 4.5 port fuel-injected engines required premium fuel due to a 9.5:1 compression.

With no issues or signs of predetonation.......the ethanol in the newer fuels helps, I suppose.
