I have an '85 SE. The outside turn signal lights work, but the flasher on the dashboard only flashes when turning right-nothing on a left turn. Swapped light bulbs doesn't fix it. Outside everything works, but left flashing arrow doesn't light up and doesn't flash. Emergency flasher lights are the same. Any suggestions?

Bad bulb socket? Bad circuit board trace? Bad connection to the circuit board? The switch inside the column itself should be good as all the lights are parallel.

Are you sure all the outside lights work, even the markers? I had this problem and I think someone posted that when this happens it's because something outside is not working, and they were right. Oh, maybe it's the wrong bulb. The turn/brake lights have to have two filaments to work right. Sometimes you have to clean the ribbon on the back of the gauge cluster where the bulb holder contacts touch. Ditto the side marker lamp sockets.
