Hey guys,
Im having a hell of a time trying to figure out this issue.
I recently picked up a 85 v6 fiero fastback gt
I recently went under the dash and found a keyless entry auto start box.
Well, upon taking it out I have an issue now where when I step on the brakes the parking lights come on
And when I flip on the parking lights the brake lights come on lol
The brake light switch under the dash has a white and a orange wire going to it.
The white wire was cut so I had to connect it back up.
No other breaks or cuts that I can see are there.

Does anyone have a simple wiring guide that may be able to help me?
There are wires crosses somewhere I just dunno where :/

Ill update this with some pics later
Thank you to anyone that can help me.
Cars ready to drive this is the only thing stopping me

O and P.S. My PONTIAC dosnt light up at all either.

If you have a 1985 fastback GT, you have a car that has been modified by it's previous owner. There were no fastback cars in 1985, so the wiring would have to be re-done, and there is no provision in the 1985 wiring for the lights that say P O N T I A C.

edit: You need to figure out how much of your wiring is original and for which year....

Ty for the reply,
When i first got the fiero in the winter all lights where working fine.
As soon as i cut out that box under the dash.
(Which i thought was a keyless entry auto start)
Thats when all my issues started.
There isnt any kinda of converter box that anyone knows of that would fix this is there?

O and my speedometer isnt working either lol

Was there a problem with the box that you removed?

Do you still have it?

It sounds like with removing that box, you mixed some wires up. If you have the box you removed, re-install it......?

Yay i found the issue
Thanks to this site
http://cyco.home.cyberverse...ips/fbtaillights.htm

I figured out it was a wire that i had cut .. Oops
So tommarow I'm gunna wire it all back up

Now I just need to figure out why my speedometer wasn't working ..
And all will be good.

The only question I have is
The other part of that white wire.. That used to hook to my brake light switch, That goes up into the cluster of wires under my dash..
Is that used for anything?
Or just tape it up and let it be?
Thank you guys for your help.
Im sure ill be back for suggestions tommaorw when my speedometer dosnt work lol

That and the PONTIAC dosnt light up when the lights are one
Guess i could just wire the bulbs to the brake lights?
Or would that be to much for the wires?
