My headers came with the engine when I bought it I do not know what brand they are. The center tube is hitting the firewall I think i will need about an inch more clearance . Is this common with all 3800 headers going into a fiero? How can i fix this? I could remove the heat shield and would gain allot but its there for a reason. What did you do to make yours fit? I m pretty sure they are stainless steel since they are not magnetic so i would really like to use them.

Fixed the problem with the firewall by removing the heat shield until the car was lowered all the way then there is just enough clearance to reinstall it.

Can I cut about 6" out between the collector and the manifold and have a welder re weld it back in place so I have more room to get a muffler in there?
