I'm looking for the best-bang-for-the-buck power upgrades for my 2002 Eldorado ESC (Y-motor) that is being tuned for autocross.
(Brief pause for reader's laughter)
I do not want nitrous or the 9-motor head and computer swap.
I love the low end torque of the Y-motor and feel like it is the best compromise between the low end grunt of the 4.9 and the high-end HP of the 9-motor.
The car spends 99% of it's time as a DD. It will only be autocrossed 5 to 6 times per year, and it might see the Arkansas Mile a few times if I can get the governor reprogrammed.

I've looked at the possibility of an LS4 swap with LS2 hot cam specs, but I do not want to lose any functionality of th e climate control or other instruments.

There is very little room for a turbo.

I'm trying to find out if the 4.4's supercharger will bolt up and if my computer can be reprogrammed.

I'd also like to find out about the possibility of using the 4.4 heads with or without the supercharger.

Are there cams for the 2000-2005 N* that will work (with or without the computer reprogrammed?)

Can the 4.4's larger throttle body be used?

Or can I swap in a 4.4 S.C. and get the combo to work seamlessly with my car?

I know that the Fiero community has the best tech when it comes to these engines. Now the challenge is to apply that to an actual Caddy with its body control computer that controls the instrumentation and communicates with the engine computer.

I'm saving up to have incerts and bigger head bolts done and to get the oil leaks fixed. This is the time for engine mods if I'm going to do them.

(and if anyone is interested, I don't mind making a thread for the suspension build)

Thanks.

I used to have a 95 SLS (Y) and a 95 STS (9). Both had the 4T80-E transmission.
Biggest noticeable difference was the 3.71 final drive in the STS, vs. the 3.11 in the SLS.

You might look at changing the final drive ratio.....
