Can a dash cam's graphic display not be eliminated on video sent over an A/V or HDMI cable?

I thought about getting a Hero for my upcoming move but couldn't swing the $$$. (I had a cheap one that broke after a couple uses.) Good idea for a RHD car in a LHD country.

And for the opposite situation as well. Just think of all the American made cars (LHD) that have been exported to RHD countries.
