Greetings Fiero family! I've been out fo the Fiero business for awhile now - currently looking for a new Fiero project. I've been busy restoring my 1970 Monte and spent the last few months moving from El Paso to Omaha. Now that I am settled in here in Omaha, I thought I'd share some pics of some great Mid West Cars. Omaha is Car Mecca for a car guy - there are multiple car shows every weekend and car events all week long - something hot rod related nearly everyday of the week. My goal over the rest of the Summer and Fall is to attend at east one car fucntion a week. I'll post up some pics of my favorites - maybe I'll run into some fellow Fiero fanatics at some of the shows - I have been to 5 cars hows here and only seen one Fiero. There has to be more out here. I hope to enter my Monte in a few shows a little later this Summer or in the Fall - got a few more things to finsih up on her and she will be ready for the public.
Here's a few to get started - Last Saturday evening in Omaha - Omaha Camaro Club "Cars under the Stars" There were a lot of nice cars there but these two stood out.
This is a Ring Brothers Camaro - very very nice car - one way too far out of my reach.
I really liked this Camaro - just not crazy about the white interior!
More later!

Over in Council Bluffs Iowa on Thursday nights, they have Hot Rod Night at a Quaker Steak and Lube. I wanderd over there with the Monte this eveing to check it out. Here's some pcis of some of my favorites!
I really liked this Chev SS - very nice - clean and well done - with Twin NOS bottle and 200 HP system. Bad!
This is a Serious Pro Street Chevelle - not trailered to the show - Driven! I Still have a soft spot for Fiero's - this one is on the mend - has a 3800 SC installed - a work in progress!
A Nice "old school" Vette!
Another very nice Chevelle!
One More!
One for the Mustang fans!
And of course - My all time favorite car at the show!
More Later!

Carnut - I know exactly what you are saying - I think it's the stuff they used for carpet padding/insulation - once that stuff gets damp...........
Went over to Atlantic, Iowa this morning - was a pretty good show. Lots of cars. Filled most of main street for 4 blocks plus a block each way on 4 side streets. Here's my favorites from today:
My Favorite Mopar - all aluminum injected Hemi in a Roadrunner!
I don't know but the real deal Iron Elephant - ready to go runs in the 20k and up catagory! I think that injection setup is around 7500.00 - I'd bet there is 30 - 40k tied up in that aluminum one!
Congrats on the Monte! I have not seen pics since...well, since she was apart. Very nicely done.
Feel free to post many, many more of your car.
Tony
Thanks Tony!
It only took 3 years to go from this - when I drove it from Idaho to El Paso:
To this:
Found a nice rat's nest in the AC box!
Found pieces of the old timing gear in the Oil Pick up!
Rod bearings were coming apart:
At one point, I got so involved in the Fiero game that the poor old Monte got pushed into the back yard - spent about 1.5 years back there before I got the bug to finish it.
After it's back yard banishment:
Then to this:
Then off to the Body Shop!
And ended up like this:
Still got some more work to do. Needs a new headliner and new door panels - repleced the carpet and seat upholstery. I want to upgrade to disc brakes in the back, and get a deeper gear set -3.43 or something close to that. I spent an obscene amount of monsy on a 200R 4 speed auto - with all the killer hard parts. It has an issue shifting from 2nd to 3rd - it "flares" so I need to drop it out (for the 3rd time) and get it fixed. I also have a new Atomic MSD TB Injection setup for it. I think I can get it all finished this Winter - if I don't end up with another Fier project.
More later!

Sunday - 30th Annual Pontiac Show in Omaha. Posted up the Fiero's in the General section. There were a lot of nice GTO's, Trans Ams, etc. Jim Wanger - the Father of the GTO was there - got an autographed book about GTO's from him. Here's some of my favorites from the show.
The Geeto Tiger!
My Favorite year Trans Am - The black Formula behind it is sweet too!
QSL on Thursday was good. 113 cars - a lot I have yet to see. Here's a few of my favorites!
Big HP here!
A nice clean Monte - of course!
My favorite - A very nicely done Roadster with a 409! I love the Old School look! Notice the Cam Shaft cross bar in the front frame rails!
Lots of rain today in the Omaha Area - went to a couple shows - the rain kept the cars in the garages! There are a few tomorrow - hopefully we will have a little sun.
Been busy working - got my car fix tonight though - over at QSL in Council Bluffs Iowa - Can't beat it - late Spetember - 50 to 60 degrees and 138 Hot Rods.
Here's a nice 67 Chevelle - serious car and can be had for 30k!
I love 409 valve covers. It looks like you missed a couple of week-ends?
Yep - Fall Turkey Season is open so I've been sneaking around the woods trying to blend into the surroundings and fool a Turkey into believeing that I am a tree - has not worked but at least I'm outside! The car shows are winding down here in the Midwest. There are a few more in October that I hope to get to.

I almost ran over 7 full grown females ( hens?) the other night. Come on over and you can sit in the back of the truck and have at them. To hunt deer, you'll have to ride up front and man the spot light.
