Very much in the way the Fiero community came together for Tyler Shipman so many years ago now. Our friends out east are kicking off a similar project. Please take a moment to read their story and consider if there is a way you may be able to help!

This project will take place in Oley, PA with the bulk of the work being planned for October 31 but with work beginning on October 30 and ending on November 1.

What this is about:

"2020 has sucked for all of us. It's been especially bad for C, he shared, "2020 has been the worst year of my life. I was diagnosed last year with testicular cancer, which had spread to my lymph nodes. Back in March I started feeling pain in my lower back which grew so excruciating that I could not sleep. I ended up in the hospital on morphine and Oxycodone to relieve it. The tumors were infringing on my nerves by that point and I soon lost the ability to walk. I have been out of work ever since.
My car, a 1988 Pontiac Fiero GT, had quit running on me back in December. The distributor had gone. I tried to install a new one myself in February, when I was still capable, but I got the timing wrong, so I had it towed sometime later. It was fixed but I had a new problem. The mechanic told me the transmission was shot and it still wasn't driveable. That was right before my condition started to deteriorate..."

A facebook event has been created by the Mid - Atlantic Fiero Owners Association.
Here is the link and info:
https://www.facebook.com/events/760852941432673

"It's no secret that 2020 has been pretty awful for the vast majority of it. For one younger Fiero owner, 2020 has brought awful news of a cancer diagnosis which impacted his life and ability to work while undergoing treatment, followed by the discovery that his beautiful 88GT that he has been working hard on has a bad case of cradle and frame rot. The car is not salvageable on its current frame; however, thanks to the generosity of Pickardt Performance and a team of individual Fiero owners, we are going to #make2020better for this owner by transferring one car to another frame the weekend of October 31 for one last hurrah in Jim Gilbert's garage in Oley, PA. This young man suffers from one of the same types of cancer Dad had earlier in his life and we know he is looking down with approval.
We would appreciate some additional support from the Fiero community as we embark on this project - monetary donations, parts donations and some labor."

Not meaning to deflect this worthy effort but can I post a tag along....?

Another Fiero enthusiast could use a few prayers or well wishes too.
Long time PFF member Synthesis is hospitalized with Covid19.
He has a chronical of his experience with the disease in OT called Covid Chronicals..

Attempted to purchase some wish list stuff. It only gives me the option to "ship to myself", which would be kind of counter-productive.
You may want to edit your wish list info, or PM me shipping name and address. Or just post it up, here.
Also... Once stuff is purchased, will it disappear from the list? Or just not show a number needed?

Does anyone know how to change that setting? I can't figure it out ;-) But I will PM you the address. The items will disappear from the list once purchased. Thank you so much!

WE ONLY NEED 4 MORE PARTS AND JUST A HANDFUL OF SUPPLIES!

Thanks to all who have helped thus far!!
In less than 10 days, we kick off the #make2020better project to give a Fiero community member who is battling cancer his car back. C's car is completely riddled with rust so we will be doing a full transfer to a donor frame and in the process giving him a fantastic Fiero back! This will allow him to drive himself to treatments vs the lonely haul of inpatient chemo in times of Covid. You can learn more about his story and the car at bit.ly/ccsfiero

We have a great group assembled for the build (but will still take volunteers); however, we are still in need of the following parts and materials. Materials are on the Amazon Wish List below and our parts list is here. If you are able to help (even by helping with $10 in supplies) we know it will help #make2020better for C.

Parts still needed are:
Ebrake Cable
Trunk Gasket/Seal
Complete Gasket Kit
Valve Guide Seals

We also have the Amazon wishlist linked above.

Thanks all!

Tonight we officially kick off the #make2020better project. Thanks to all who have supported us thus far through the donations of parts, funds and the offer of their labor this weekend! Check out this amazing list of individuals below. If you did order us something on the Amazon Wishlist and your name is missing (or if we just goofed otherwise!) please let us know as we'd love for C to see your names!
