Bonjour tout le monde! Hi everyone!

Was getting a bit bored during quarantine lockdown, so I started to make and upload some videos:

https://youtu.be/lurWVzsrZTA

https://youtu.be/xGgoqaP7qmQ

https://youtu.be/vQHqHH_JXMg

https://youtu.be/aJYazM9lR4g

https://youtu.be/GYB39Ru_AXI

https://www.youtube.com/cha...wZvWQlkYxTjivW_0XNg/

Nothing really new that hasn't been discussed before on my build thread.

I'll be adding some more from time to time.
(New stuff once the meetings and tracks reopen....)

Keep safe, best regards,
Rafe

Deceptively fast. I like it. It is weird not hearing the blower whine on the 3800. ha

You can hear a little turbo whine on some of my videos.
I've put the link to "Turbo Slug's" Youtube channel in my previous message.
Watch this one to see the M3 being beaten again! (Filmed by a spectator - last few seconds of the video.)

Cool videos! I like that there is real sound rather than a bunch of music....

Rafe, I noticed your track day videos have been distorted, going from the 4:3 they were shot in to a stretched 16:9 aspect ratio. Not to fear though, as it's easily rectified. Just copy and paste yt:stretch=4:3 into the tag area for each video... and they'll be back to normal.

Shameless plug:

https://youtu.be/W8yLB0-kE-s

This probably the last video using the crappy 'phone cam footage that's been collecting dust on my hard drive.
My family bought me an action cam since, so maybe I can start to make better vids!

Thanks for watching.

As promised, here are a few "better quality" vids:

The latest, the "Icecream run":

https://youtu.be/xGgoqaP7qmQ

And a couple of car meets since the lockdown was lifted:

https://youtu.be/XWJYM4lxyEo
https://youtu.be/vQHqHH_JXMg

The next real track event I'm doing is this 2 day drag race. I should be going up against my old car the '77 Bandit Trans Am (LS3 motor now). We'll see how I do...!

Oh, and there will certainly be some BMW M3's in the line up for Turbo Slug to eat !!

Regards,
Rafe

That engine sounds pretty good, for a 3800. (they usually sound kinda "blah") Just out of curiosity, how much RPM is it turning during the race footage?

Ironically, I replaced my Fiero with a BMW 3-series. But I'll probably replace the engine with something more powerful.

PS - Link to build thread? Apparently, my search-fu is weak today.

Hi Blacktree,
The motor revs to 6500rpm accoding to gauges. I know I asked Darth to give the chip tune a reasonable rpm limit.
The sound is probably due to all the head work, porting-n-polishing, etc... Plus the tubular exhaust manifolds.
I think the motor sounds like a washing machine at idle though!😉

For my build thread, you will need to look for "Europeen style 3800...."
(I lost my original pseudo "Englishrafe" accès plus most of the early build photos though.)
I'll try to post the link later...

Regards,
Rafe

Found it! Here's the link: //www.fiero.nl/forum/Forum2/HTML/121257.html
EDIT: Most of the photos are gone. That's too bad.

As a side note: I think the 3800 V6 is a good engine. I just don't like how it sounds. If I could make it sound good, I'd put a turbo 3800 in my BMW. I'm sure the BMW purists would love that!

Lock down was lifted mid May in France, but still with restrictions in public places, work places etc...
We have to wear masks pretty much all the time when in public buildings, shops and at work..
Most of the summer concerts, car events and meetings were cancelled or postponed. But those organised after September will probably be OK, with limits on the number of spactators.

Thanks for the positive feedback. These videos kept me motivated as well and I shall continue to film the exploits of "Turbo Slug".

Best regards,
Rafe

In fact, it helps with our immune system😉
Dogs and humains are symbiotic🐶🧔

That being said, I don't let "Prune" (the dog in the vid) eat my icecream 😋

In fact, we say "cool". Or maybe a bit longer: "coool"
There are alot of english words that we use everyday😉
(Some of them are misused, but that's just how language evolves👍)

As for Turbo Slug, it won't be cool at all. They've put me in "Super street" - I'm going to be up against some really powerfull monsters/cars.
Gonna have to cut those R/Ts very short!⏱️🤔

In the video description, you said "broom" was english for "vroum". So I decided to get cheeky.

(actually, in english it's "vroom")

No problem😉
It's probably my GB english origins to say "broom" or "broum".
USA english is more "vroum"! Along with alot of other languages.
I'm sure as a kid playing cars, we didn't care how it was spelled we just made car noises😁🏎️🚗🚙🏍️🚓
