Hello,

After several years i've own now this "unicorn"-item of Fiero-Merch. It was only 12 times for sale on discogs and ebay (worldwide) in the last 5 years. I hope that somebody in the forum has it too and can confirm the completeness of the kit and considerations that I have made myself.

For all that are new in that, first i'll show pictures of it:

front of the cardboard slipcase:

back of the cardboard slipcase:

innersleeve front containig the LP:

innersleeve back:

vinyl label side one:

vinyl label side a (there is no side two - i think its a gag Hall & Oates made cause the original releases of the album have it too):

unfolded outside of the gatefold inlay that contains the letter for the dealers, press kit, answering envelopes and the LP:

unfolded and emptied inside of the gatefold inlay:

- Letter to the dealer to give an overview of the Tour of Hall & Oates and the benefits for the dealers advertise with it
- order form for 2 different packages containing rub-off game pieces, concert tickets, album & posters
- material order form for the merchandise items
- overview what the dealers kit contains (beside the LP):

3 different templates for newspaper ads (AD #1 - General Sponsorships, AD #2- Concert Tour City, AD #3 - Fiero Giveaway)

four flyers (LP-cover sized) on both sides printed on glossy carton front
- Side #1 National Tour Facts
- Side #3 Radio in tune with the times
- Side #5 Your local sweepstakes
- Side #8 Note to Dealers:

four flyers (LP-cover sized) on both sides printed on glossy carton back
- Side #2 Tour Dates
- Side #4 Newspaper that begs to read
- Side #6 Incentives
- Side #7 Your Merchandising Materials

two answering envelopes one adressed to the merch hq and the other to the sweepstakes hq:

This Promo-LP was given to (all ?) Pontiac dealers across the US. I've never seen such an impressive Outfit in Artwork and Merch in a dealers kit from any other manufacturer. It must have been cost a lot to produce it, although there wasn't much time.
Hall and Oates went to Studio recording "Big Bam Boom" in Summer 1984 (according Daryl Halls Biography) the album was first in the stores on 14th Oct 1984 and in the kit is spoken from the "soon coming album". Maybe it was used for after summer holidays promotion 'cause the tour starting 27 Oct 1984.

In the Kit it was written that the dealers can get personilezed radio spots with an theme sung by hall and oates that base on their song "Family Man" that contains the chorus "We build Excitement". I don't know more about it but i think it was been put on cassette for thats the then most used media for radio spots. Has anyone one of it on tape or mp3?

I would to like to see newspaper clippings of the three different adverts how the look printed and would buy if someone want to sell them.

on the materials order form (sadly not on the picture but i've got it) are following merch articles listed:

- Pontiac Fiero/Daryl Hall / John Oates Four-Color Banner (4' x 10') (never seen any @eBay etc.)
- Pontiac Fiero/Daryl Hall / John Oates Four-Color Banner (4' x 30') (never seen any @eBay etc.)
- Pontiac Fiero/Daryl Hall / John Oates Bumber Stickers (never seen any in eBay etc.)
- Pontiac Fiero/Daryl Hall / John Oates Desk Toppers (never seen any in eBay etc.)
- Pontiac Fiero/Daryl Hall / John Oates Tour Jackets (XL, L, M, S) (seen only one in XL @eBay US last year)
- Pontiac Fiero/Daryl Hall / John Oates Tour Shirts (XL, L, M, S) (can be found sometimes @eBay)
- Pontiac Fiero/Daryl Hall / John Oates Giveaway Posters (can often be found on eBay)
- Pontiac Fiero/Daryl Hall / John Oates Record Albums (don't know if thats the regular "Big Bam Boom"-Album and if its have its regular Cover or are Fiero-specific)
- Pontiac Fiero/Daryl Hall / John Oates Cassette Tapes (don't know if thats the regular "Big Bam Boom"-Album and if its have its regular Cover or are Fiero-specific)
- Pontiac Fiero/Daryl Hall / John Oates Sun Visors (can be found sometimes @eBay - i've got one in my collection)
- Pontiac Fiero/Daryl Hall / John Oates Sport Caps (can be found sometimes @eBay)

Some of them i've seen in goggle or ebay but there a lot of them that are not to find in the web. Does anyone have information about these (maybe some of you have taken part in one of those dealer sweepstakes) or got it in his collection (a rub-off game piece is searched, too) ? If so, it would be nice to take picture of it an put in the thread so i know how the items look which i'm looking for. If somebody has anything of that for sale inform me via PN maybe we can make a deal ;-)

If somebody is interested in photos or textes of one of the items in this press kit please feel free to ask, i will put them in the thread

Isn’t it ironic that John Oates later (in 86-87) drove Fiero’s with Bob Earl.

Okay i'm not alone :-D so i know now that my Dealer Kit is complete... I've ran after this record for 5 years. Mostly it was already saled at ebay or discogs when i got the message that a new one is added. In two cases the price was to high. Because there are no records in germany so i have to import it and the shipping cost and value added tax can double the price. Anyway i've made a bargain it's the most expensive record in my collection (over 320 Vinyls so far)

I actually have two of these. One is opened and one is not. not only do I have this record/dealer kit, I have two different concert t-shirts, many different concert tickets, the big bam boom cassette, the magazine advertisement ,plus the press release kit (which is great BTW) and last BUT not least.... the REAL (reel to reel )radio commercial . I have #1 (I believe there were three different ones) on the package it does state: this commercial can be used through 4/9/85 on local spot and local programs! I know I have more to this ...but cant remember right now. Believe it or not... I was planning on selling it as a kit as soon as I can get the commercial transferred to digital. ( because Im keeping that and the unopened record kit)
