Is anyone familiar with this concept car?

Cadillac Cien
When they first presented the Cadillac Cien in 2002, the automotive world was stunned. This concept of a super sports car with a mid-engine layout, aggressive design and brutal stance was something nobody thought Cadillac could do. However, Cadillac proved them wrong with this fantastic car.

Cadillac built the Cien to mark the 100th anniversary of the company in 2002. It featured a 7.5-liter V12 Northstar motor with 750 HP and was allegedly a fully functional prototype. Unfortunately, GM never saw the potential of this Cadillac that could beat a Ferrari so this beautiful car remained a dream.

And yeah, the car features fairly prominently in a portion of the film. Hard to tell how much of it is real and how much is CGI.

This is absolutely breathtaking!! Can't imagine what these fellows would of thought to have one of these pass them on the road.

Take it to the bank that Cadillac will be selling it's own version of the ME Corvette soon.

Cadillac might have a C8 based model but it will not be for at least 5 years .

Johann while in charge said he liked the idea but said it would be 2025 before they could have one to market with all their other programs they were working on.

At this point with the move to Electric models Cadillac May have moved on or may do an Electric model. Too soon to tell.

But right now they have several cars and several SUV models to get out as that is were the real money is made.

Right now much investment is going to a new Escalade.

Sports cars are sexy and fun but seldom profitable and with Cadillac not something they are well known for.

There was someone on "mad mechanics" with a prototype buck in his workshop loft. Sorry but I don't remember his screen name or which thread. But I was hoping it would be brought to market as a body kit

The proto-type is at the GM Heritage Museum. I just saw a picture of it last week.

As is so often with GM... "oh, what could have been..."

But you can see the "sharp edged" styling cues were carried over into Cadillac's other offerings.

There is speculation of a 2021 Cadillac XLR (based on mid-engine Corvette chassis)

Being as the original XLR was a solid retractable hard top car, is it even remotely feasible to build a retractable mid-engined version.

A lot of junk to put in the trunk, so to speak.
