Couple runs later this happened on the return road turning left. Stock Non HD diff spider gears welded itself to the pinion shaft and when I went to turn said NOPE
Yeah. I figured it was due to the burnouts. Shoulda taken off the slicks as I was cutting the almost exact same 60's on my 225/50/16 as I was my 255/50's!!!!
Oh well. $70 later and a friend who had a non HD diff with 3.29's I had it going 2 days later.
------------------ I'm the original owner of a white ' 84 2M4 purchased Dec 10, 1983 from Pontiac. Always garaged, no rust, 4-wheel drifts are fun! 3800 SC swap to come!
I was running the 1.7's on the street tires of 225/50/16's as well as the 255/50/16 BFG drag radials . Hence the broken diff at the end. Track was super sticky.

I don't quite agree that reaction time doesn't affect ET... shooting for a good reaction time AND a fast ET presents a higher cognitive load.
If your mind is not focused on getting a good reaction time, then you may get an ET that cannot be reproduced in a true race situation.
Must be fun to have a dragstrip for just a few people!
Recently in Québec the members of our dear government unaminously passed a new law to punish/ticket distracted driving (i.e. cellphones, texting) more harshly. Laptop computers were also targeted... which is making me wonder how I should go about tuning my new engine once it's ready.

The clock starts when YOU start moving, not when the light turns green. I've sat at a light for 5 seconds when it was green and still went 12.1 while playing with the stall speed.
