This year's 24th Annual Fieros at Carlisle show will feature many of the same great events as year's past, as well as some special events to help you prepare for the 35th Anniversary of the Fiero show including Judging Prep tips and a "What to Know Before You Go" session to help you make the most out of a trip to East Peoria, IL!
Two class changes are in store for this year's show. The first is Carlisle Production's elimination of "Factory Stock" as a class in which you register. As this was a popular vote class, it was difficult for show attendees to choose those cars that were truly representative of what rolled off the factory floor in the 1980s. It was instead decided that all Factory Stock Cars should register in the their appropriate Stock Class; however, MAFOA will still trophy a Factory Stock class within it's show within a show that will be judged by Fiero specific judges.
The next change was a more challenging one. Registration information in recent years has made it a challenge to sustain both Custom and Daily Driver classes on the part of Carlisle Productions. In order to maintain the Custom class, Carlisle Productions has chosen to eliminate Daily Driver; however, once again, MAFOA will still trophy a Best Daily Driver award which will allow those cars to be competitive in that aspect at this year's show.

Still the largest Fiero event in the area and loads of fun to attend. Last year despite bad weather predictions (that never materialized) there were over 50 nice Fieros in attendance. MAFOA had a strong turnout with several other clubs participating. The weather was sunny there were terrific raffle prizes, a load of trophies for the class winners and everyone had a great time. Fieros at Carlisle has been winning the trophy for the attendance award maybe that will be this year as well. Its on the calendar for us and we won't miss it. If you like Fieros this is really where its at. Everyone is welcome. If you are planning to attend rooms in the Carlisle/Mechanicsburg area are filling up fast. Room rates can be high so we are lodging in New Cumberland at the LaQuinta Inn Nice place to stay, hot breakfast included and rates are not rip off. That ^ ^ ^ is not GM Carlisle. That ^ ^ ^ is the spring Carlisle.
GM Carlisle is a fraction of the size.
That picture shows the total size of the Carlisle Fairgrounds. There are numerous car shows at Carlisle that utilize the same exact area. So you make the point that the GM/Chevy/Fiero show is not quite as crowded. OK, so what and BIG DEAL. We are talking Fieros and the Fiero section is the largest there all season long. The club always gives an accurate number on how many Fieros have attended so attendees know what to expect but more importantly there are other things to be found there in parts, books, accessories, music, contests, exhibits, a food court, automotive celebrities and hundreds of other GM cars. I just looked at the days activities of our show within a show and they include: Judging of the best Fiero in 12 categories and a trophy or plaque prize and special awards Raffle for new Fiero parts and accessories 50 or more Fieros (est) of all types, custom, engine swaps, stock, modified, special interest Fiero Technical Assistance Beyond the Fiero Tent: Stacy David of Gearz TV will be there answering questions Car Coral will have 150 or more cars for sale. In the market? Burnout Contest- who can smoke the tires the longest? The Street Shootout- Who's the King of the Street this year? Nitrofest-funny car fire up- Bruce Larson GM Engineers Booth -staff to answer questions on new GM cars Solid Lifter Showroom of custom cars Woman's Oasis Tent with stuff for ladies that might not be into cars, and bingo. It's going to be a great event!! For 24 years MAFOA has been hosting the Fiero show at Carlisle!
Always a great event and guaranteed to be a 'drought buster'! Driving up tomorrow , Wipers fixed (I hope). Hope the weather in good for the Friday night 'cruise in' and that the rains don't wash us away on Saturday.
