As we continue to look for more information to add to our Enthusiast guide, I am looking for the following information:

If you have a original model year, and you are sure it still has factory OE equipment, send me the brand of spare and the size of the spare.

Looking for someone to weigh the 13" turbo finned aluminum wheel. (mo tire), and the 13" Steel rally wheel offered with and without the trim ring.

Thanks for any help you can give us!

I have owned my 85 SE V6 since new in may 1985....However, I have switched to a 16" spare wheel/tire to clear my big brakes.......But, I still have the original spare sitting in the backyard; Uniroyal 125/70-15.....That is what it came with from the factory.

Any more 86's and any 87's? Would be interesting to know when they switched from Bias ("D") tires to Radial ("R") tires for the spares.

This is what's in my low mile 87GT. Don't believe it's every been changed, and glad I looked again as it turns out its bad. In looking around it does look to be a replacement and not orginal.

Update.

After looking around I do believe this is the original space saver for my 87GT

When I got it, it had all 4 original tires on it, cracked and MFG date code correct of 067 on the front and 057 on the rears, which on tires before 2000 means it was made in the 5th and 6th week of the 7th year of the decade it was made. Potentially these could have been 1997 because prior to 2000 there is no way to tell which decade based on this code. However, all indications are that these were the originals. So, now marry that up with the date code on the spare of 047, which means it was made in the 4th week of the 7th year of the decade. My car has a sticker mfg date of 02/87 and I have the dealer invoice with ship date of 3-3-87. Conclusion: All date codes and timelines match in a correct sequence and this is the original spare tire.
