Hi all. I am American but have been living in Sydney for the last 10 years.
I have loved Fieros for a very long time (really I love all cars, but Fiero is special ), the first I owned was circa 1990. Since then I have owned four, and the last time I did anything particularly social with other Fiero owners was attending the 1997 "Return to Reno" event for those that may or may not remember. I went to that with my third Fiero, a 1985 GT. Here's the only thing I have left from that event, the keepsake viewer and photo they took of me and the car at the time. Oh how technology has progressed
Just a few years later (2003 ish) I bought a 88 Fiero GT again deciding I wanted to get back in so to speak. To be perfectly honest I wasn't that impressed in the difference and as luck would have it I had to liquidate a few cars so the 88 GT went.
Now living in Australia since 2006 I have owned a few more cars and was just looking around one day for nothing in particular and saw this:
I love blue, I love Fieros, and now I have the means to have one that is low miles but what I thought was reasonably priced for what it was so I bought it! I never went to see it, but with the high res pics available I was pretty sure it was the one for me. I have owned and seen enough Fieros to know what I was looking at. Not a show car, not a ultra low mileage car, but a real "honest" low miles really good condition car. It's not perfect but then seriously how many are?
Love em or not, RK motors was good to deal with, and it's all been a pretty smooth importation process. Of course this is the third time I've imported a car so I am fairly well versed in the nuances.
I bought it at the end of August so it's been about what I expected in timelines to get here, and finally I was able to pick it up today. I had to get it towed home for lots of reasons not the least of which is the 1987 Tires that are on it My plan is to keep it as original as possible, but with a few unseen upgrades such as remote alarm
Big things I need to do to get it on the road are: Replace tires. All have good tread but man they are cracked. Replace all the rest of the rubber. As one might expect with 7600 miles on the clock, it's all pretty much shot. I wouldn't trust the radiator hoses to hold pressure for long. But I will keep it all anyway as everything has the correct markings in the correct places. Replace all fluids. Goes without saying Fix up the AC. It was degassed to come here, but I will replace the compressor and dryer, etc and get it into R134a land. Wait. Wait until Feb 2017 so I can register it with my club as a historic vehicle. Means I don't have to conver to right hand drive or anything And it's not huge but some moron decided it was a good idea to paint the Fiero on the plenum blue. Piss poor job of it too as it's flaking off. I will fix it
That's it for me for now, but enjoy some pics of it and it's arrival:

I can't see the pics you posted, but the ones in the ad look very good. Have you converted it to right hand drive, yet? I have a friend up in Berambing that owns 2 Fieros and he tells me there's a number of required conversions before a car can be registered in Australia.
AusFiero is also in Dapto NSW and proff is in Berambing.
Nice looking Fiero and it would look good running around Australia where it is somewhat of a rarity. BTW, I am an ex Brisbane/Queensland resident who reluctantly returned to the US in 2000 when my project was delayed for three years.
At some point, you'll have to show us the other vehicles in your stable. It's always interesting to see the different cars available in Australia.

Five years ago a friend of mine brought his mint condition 10,000 mile '88 GT to autocross... with the original tires still on it. Read about what happened that day HERE.

Not sure why you can't see the pics, they are hosted here and embedded with UBB code. Perhaps you have that turned off in your profile. Here's one in direct link: http://images.fieroforum.co...6-12-05_23.08.55.JPG
This car will not be converted. In the state of NSW anything 30 years old and older do not need to be converted. In Feb 2017 it will be 30 That said for regular road registration it would have to have a number of things converted such as amber turn signals etc. I'm not going to do that either. There is a club registration scheme here where I can keep it as it is and drive it on a limited basis. To any club event and 60 days a year to anywhere I want.
All good.

The images show up in your post just fine. However, I might suggest that you hit "Enter" on your keyboard after adding each image link. That'll put a space between the posted images. With the way they are now, they just sort of all flow into each other.
The pictures are showing just fine, now. That happens often. Sometimes I can see posted images and sometimes I can't. Same images. This has happened often since Microsoft took it upon themselves to upgrade my PC from XP to Windows 10. Used to be I could just right click and then click View Image, but that doesn't work with Windows 10.
It is a beauty, and yes, tell us something about the other two, also.
Your '87 GT looks great! I'm thrilled to see another imported to Australia, especially with such low mileage and all original.
I'm from Melbourne, Victoria and have had my '87 GT since Dec-'08. They're unique cars to own in Australia, most people I've met have never seen or heard of them.
The way things are going, we'll have enough cars here to host our own Aussie Fiero nationals.
Thanks all. As I mentioned, the car will stay left hand drive, I am putting it on club rego here which now lets me keep it original and drive it anyhere I like 60 days a year plus club events.
In digging into replacing most of it's rubber I can see someone replaced the rear calipers and brake lines so not completely original That being said digging in, it has not had any recalls done, it has (had) the original fuel filter on it, and it also has the original oil filter. It is actually starting to rust through on the bottom of it!
I am going to 134A AC and putting in a bigger alternator, and already had my first (usual) problem getting this sucker apart. Dropping the exhaust for access broke one of the crossover pipe to cat boldts. Wah!
I have only ever seen two Fieros here so you guys need to get out more I will try to be ready for All American Day at Castle Towers for those Sydney folk. It's not technically 30 years old until February but I think the RTA goes off model year not actual manufacture date so hopefully able to register in January.
