Sounds like what happened with the 84 Duke engines; massive oil leak from the engine. The good news is that the driver was not hurt and that Ford is replacing the car. Smart driver, when the brakes failed and the cable to the emergency brake broke he put the car in first and used the clutch as a brake

So Ford replaced the car even though he blew it up while RACING it? Shouldn't that have voided the warranty?

I'm headed to the track with my truck. Think a 7000 lb 4x4 Powerstroke could hit 120 by turn one? Could it hit 120 at all? Will the head gaskets last long enough to get me there?

Thinking they replaced the car to kill the story and prevent bad press about the car

Sound familiar?

When Georgia Fieros was given the opportunity to drive them at Atlanta Motorsports Park, all of the info was inferring that these cars were made for the track, but were dressed in street clothing. They seemed to promote their racing capabilities and intent.

Ford was/is doing similar GT350 track experiences all over the country. I don't know if Roebling Road was on their schedule or not.

Great, another Ford caught fire. Let's post every car that ever catches fire, in a new thread here, because catching fire makes it about Fieros right?

And FFS, the GT350 is a a track day car directly competing with the Z/28 Camaro. Both have warranties. The new GT350 has a flat plane crank V8 and is generally built to run handle well more than 120 MPH. Clearly this particular car had a defect, and Ford replaced it under warranty.
