Any opinions on going with cut pile or loop pile carpet?
I'm impartial so I'm hoping to get some reasoning to choose one over the other since I can't seem to decide myself.

Keep your old carpet and go over the top both will look good then. Without underlay you will need plush to look any good.

Loop pile is old school, I've always heard it called closed loop. Its not as soft as cut pile, but can wear better. Its what the factory carpet is. Think Berber.

I prefer cut pile carpet myself.

Loop carpet is what comes from the factory. Nothing wrong with it, but to me it looks best in older classics and muscle cars. I like the plush feel and modern look of cut pile. But ultimately, its all personal preference.
