Mera bodies were installed on new 1987 and 1988 Fieros (early Mera's used SE chassis, then GT's and finally Formulas) by Corporate Concepts in Capac, Michigan as a dealer ordered conversion. There was also at least one Mera built in 1986.

Could be legit. The 86 V6 manual cars were 4 speed until mid year when the Getrag 5 speed became available. Most (if not all) 86 SE V6's were 4 speeds (like mine) and some 86 GT's (early ones) were 4 speed. The bulk of 86 GT manuals were 5 speed, though- as far as I know.

1986 SE Aero coupe.

3.4 DOHC swap is complete and running, now just have to finish the rest of the car...

If it is legit, it's the wrong way to sell it. It should be in a name-brand auction.

This is the Mera prototype constructed in 1986. It does have a four speed manual transmission as well as the Chromadora wheels that were offered as options on 1988 Meras. I looked at the car a bit prior to its last sale and communicated with the owner about purchasing it. However I did not pull the trigger on it because the basement garage is a bit full at this time. The purchase price I discussed with the previous owner was also significantly less than the current asking price.
