anyone know what the plastic cover near right strut tower is called? it would be a triangle shaped cover. I need one for my 88 gt. can't search it ,because I don't no what it is called. it would be in the engine bay. Thanks for any help.

The 88s didn't come with them. You can use the covers from the older models, but they don't fit right (because the sheetmetal is different) and will probably fall out when you drive.

I have an 85gt-87gt-and my 88gt. I tried a cover from my 87gt. you are right it is small. I get it know .Thanks for clearing up my issue.

Rodney makes one designed to fit the 88s which according to his website will fit the other years too, since its held on with screws.

I've never known anyone who bought one however. I think most people just live with the open hole on the 88s.

I just used some buytal rope to hold it in place on my 88GT (but imagine silicon or other would work as well).

In 1988 some bean counter at GM decided not to create a new part for the 88s and left the open hole. Probably saved $0.001 per car. Which in those days they would leave the wheels off if they could get away with it and save a nickel.

My 84 Indy doesn't have one either. The one from my 87 is too small too.
