I posted this in the better brake thread but I wanted it to be separate so more people would see it. While searching the archives I came across an old post for a bleeding technique to get the fine air bubbles out of the brake lines. Either disconnect the battery or take out the fuse for the brake lights then depress the brake pedal fully with a block or a 1 x 4 wedged between the pedal and the seat. Leave it this way overnight and the fine air bubbles will gradually migrate out thru the top of the brake master cylinder. I tried this and it did firm up my brake pedal.
