I've asked this question before, but I seem to recall seeing differing opinions since then.

Does the Getrag select cable (left to right motion for shifter) come up to the bracket on the tranny from under or from on top of the coolant crossover pipe?

I noticed it too when i did the rebuild.. I have the getrag muncie 5sp. I thought it was just a "in-case" guard for anything dropping on the exhaust... It came off at the beginning of the rebuild so I put it back on to be complete.
