I generally prefer a new crate engine over rebuilding or even used. Im having a few doubts now though. Shop next door installed a new crate GM engine in a 67 Chevelle. Its been in a little less than a year. It blew and locked up. He pulled it and found all the parts of one piston in the bottom. The rest were fine...only one literally exploded. They did give him a new replacement. I wonder if they do recalls on them...GM needs more recalls

I'm pretty sure that GM isn't going to sell a Connect and Cruise setup of an LSx mated to a transmission only rated for 170 ft-lbs of torque. That page also says it's an automatic. So, I wouldn't hold my breath for that option, if I were you.
