ok this was ten years ago but i seen a website called fierox and it was about a fiero that had the 3.8sc with a turbo as well. i see his car on youtube but does he have a build thread on here of what all he did? i did a search and not getting anything... i suck at searches sorry lol my buddy is wanting to possibly do this to his build he has going but he was hoping to talk to that guy first. any help guys?
supercharger plus turbo... both on the same motor? where ?
The 3800 comes in two flavors, with and without the supercharger. The one with the supercharger is built a little stronger though, so using it with the blower gutted, the non-supercharger intake manifold, or a custom intake manifold, will be better for a turbo build.
I think the last setup FieroX was using, was a custom intake.
I've seen it on some old school builds and there is some on youtube. i was just trying to find that guy in particular because its the same thing my friend wants to do.

Yes, last I remember seeing from him he had upgraded to a larger turbo and ended up snapping a axle. After that he was looking into stronger axles and I believe he had them made and started offering them for sale. To the OP though, I have not seen a SC and turbo on the same 3800 here. Most who go turbo with the 3800 start with an SC engine because of the stronger internals and as dobey said, gut the SC, use an NA intake or a custom intake. Sorry I haven't seen any twin charge SC and turbo builds.

What does your friend want to do exactly? The entire point of FieroX's build was to be "the fastest Fiero in the world" and do it with a V6. I don't know if he ever got it into the 9 second range in the 1/4 mile though. Your friend wants to build a car to run 1/4 mile in under 10 seconds? Or your friend just wants a turbo 3800? And why can't your friend post on here?
Anyway, if you're in Michigan and want to do a 3800 build, talk to darkhorizon and Justinbart.

He's just wanting to have fun with it and thought it would be neat. looking into it .... looks like its more then its worth.
i don't think he is a member on here yet... other then that .. i don't know.

Building a 600+ HP 3800 is a lot of work, yes. If he just wants to "have fun with it" there is plenty one can do with a Fiero. Even a stock 2.8 can be fun to drive, even with it's low power output.
Driving any Fiero is a lot more fun than not driving one.

oh he already has his 3.8sc and has some great upgrade mods already purchased for it. cam, springs, rockers, pullies, electric water pump, we are porting everything this weekend etc etc.... so ya he's going to have a killer ride. we started a build thread on here which we will update this weekend
Ryan (FieroX) never had the blower and turbo on at the same time. It was blower, then he went to turbo, but never had both. Few Grand Prix guys have done it, but it is a waste of time and money. Either do blower, which makes a really fun car, up to a certain power level or if looking for more than 350 whp, then do turbo. Both is overly complicated and doesn't give any real gains over one or the other.

thanks for the info L. it was ten years ago when i thought i seen so my mistake
That car I don't think exists anymore. He built a miata now.
I personally don't have an interest in front engine or longitudinal swapped cars, or even electric setups. Everyone is entitled to their preference or build, but comparing those, to fieros that are still working within the confines of the stock suspension and drivetrain layout is a stretch. I find cars like FieroX, Darkhorizon, Justin's etc more impressive, and more relatable to the average fiero owner. Anything still daily driveable also adds to my personal interest level. Your interests may vary
Outside of tires.. My car works quite well for daily driving as long as you feel that a car is only daily drivable if you can make 1.3 60fts happen easily without nitrous.
I have taken my car on quite a few long trips last year and a few trips to work, but due to the very handy trailering setup I have now I decided to let my other (5) cars maintain the "daily driver" roles and do a few things that are slightly less driver practical for the fiero.
His fastest fiero in the world claim is bogus anyway... im running 10mph faster with significantly less invested.]
You seem to forget that in 2009 it was the fastest. And in 10, 11 and 12. Took you damn near half a decade to catch up. Nobody cares that you built your car for $14, and I doubt you are running 146 mph now.

i'm not taking sides... but honestly that was a pretty funny come back.
i met dark about 10 years ago a couple months after he did his first swap. nice guy...kinda. his work was not what i'd call clean but he had just started working on fieros so dont take that wrong dark.
i know about a year or so before i met dark i was reading your web page fierox and drooling. that was a pretty cool set up for the time well and still is.
props to both of you for making your cars so fast... if i still had my twin turbo 5.3 camaro i'd offer to race you both... at the same time... with my eyes closed
amen to that.. I'd give my left.. well you know to have a turbo in the fiero
I mean granted love the supercharger just falls off up top and technology sucks ----> My damn cobalt turbo with a tune is not to far off from my fiero trap speed wise.

He already did. Pics are in this thread. As for using a turbo with a supercharger . IMO, its a bad idea as the air will be superheated before it enters the engine. You need cool air to make horsepower. SC+IC or Turbo + IC.
