I was talking to a friend of mine who has a few fieros and he told me he seen one in a warehouse in south of me with the entire interior and back burned out. I am going to try and find out the VIN if it is still there. A sad conversation I might add.

I do find it interesting that the the VIN#'s for all the Indys, although reflecting the cars order of assembly at the Pontiac Plant, seem to have no baring on the the order in which they were actually Indy'ized. because the Prototype is way down the list and if i am not mistaken, had tan interier originally because they had not yet made red interiers for the Indy production cars yet.
It is almost as if they already made the mass of 84 Fieros, had them all shuffled on that huge storage lot they were all parked on, and then were just randomly selected out of order to be Indys
I am a little confused as to the INDY build order according to the numerous VIN's provided in a not so numerical order. Far from it in fact. Did Pontiac just randomly select cars off the lot to be INDY-ized in '84??? What gives???

To answer above, The white Fieros as needed were pulled off the line so the Indy's will not be consecutive. They changed the front and rear bumpers, jack and mount, interior, wheels, gold tone brake boost put on rockers and put a dual exhaust on to mention a few. This is a reason the front and back bumper over time turns yellow as it was done separately and as a new mold set up for prototype. Hope this helps,,Rick B
Going to the Gilmore museum Sept. 15th. They have an Indy in collection. . No Vin on windshield as it was donated by GM. I am sure there is a Vin on the RPO. Will post when I get the info Ron 1984 Indy (full strobe lighting system)

hi this is gregs wife leslie. i noticed this thread and could not believe that you had only found like 55 indys so far so i figured i would try to help you out. so for the last 2 hours i have been searching all over the internet and i found one for you the vin is 1g2af37r6ep272791 it was for sell i forget the web site it said it was a 4 speed with 190 kilometers so i am assuming it is in canada i hope this helps

Manual. I have 2 other Indys, one of which was not salvageable due to a rollover, and became a parts car (is now the test frame for pokeyfiero's "mongrel"). Both manual. I'll get you the VINs when I get a chance.

Anyone with a seat in good condition please let me know if you are willing to sell it. I want to keep mine as orignal as possible before I take them apart to have new leather added.
