SOLD!

I'm selling my 4.9 V8 swap from my 88 coupe. The engine is from a 91 Deville. I rebuilt it 5000 miles ago with new seals, bearings, rings, larger camshaft and ported heads. It comes with the isuzu trans that's bolted to it. It has a stage 3 spec clutch. It has a rockcraw chip with emissions and passkey delete. The engine is currently in the car and running. It will be pulled in the next couple weeks to make way for the new engine and trans. I'm not really sure what it's worth so I'm taking offers. I'm sure there are parts I'm forgetting that I have replaced/upgraded. Any questions feel free to ask! Would need to be picked up in the Kalamazoo michigan area.

Are you doing another 4.9? Question is actually relating to the mounts, etc and if those items are for sale.

Wow! You've done a fantastic job with that engine James, it really looks good! But I can think of an engine that would look better in there

God I would love to have this! What a good looking engine bay. Looks like you did a fantastic job on this. I would hate to insult you with what I can offer so good luck with the sale.

I won't be insulted. It will be out of the car in the next week or two and in the way. Feel free to make an offer.

Why did you decide to replace it?
(Asking since I just got my 5 speed/4.9 back on the road.)

I purchased a 2.0 turbo 4 cylinder engine and getrag 5 speed trans (full swap) from fieroguy123. I've always been more of a small engine/ turbo guy. Plus I've wanted a engine that gets better gas mileage.

What kind of gas mileage were you getting with the 4.9/getrag?

James,
What do you think would be involved in putting it on an 87 cradle vs. you 88?
Thanks,
Bob

Not a whole lot. You would have to weld a bracket on the front of the cradle for the front engine mount. I think that is about it.

Okay. Good info. That puts my mileage with the Getrag right in line.

If I had any idea how to swap that into my car it would be mine. Well, that and if you didn't live 1500 miles away. Beautiful engine! GLWS....

I've seen this car and the swap looked and sounded great. I was checking it out when I bought my 87 GT from him awhile back.

Good luck with the sale.

In case anyone is wondering what a 4.9/Allante/manual swap feels like...

It reminds me very much of the 4 speed, late 60s Camaros and Chevelles we used to drive, back in the day.

Good luck with your sale!

Bump. Engine is on a pallet and ready for a new owner to pick it up. Remember, it comes with the engine, trans, clutch, flywheel, exhaust, intake, wiring and computer. It even has an oil cooler hooked up on it! I'm looking for $1500 for the engine swap. Someone buy it and use it! Everything has about 5000 miles on it.

If you were willing to ship it, half the work is already dun (being on a pallet). All you would have to do is strap it to the pallet and wrap it... Cost for shipping a motor is around $250-$500 depending on where its going. The trucking co. will even pick it up (for a fee of course)... So giving the option for a buyer to have it delivered will widen your buying audience

Get a hold of pff member Maddance, he has a shipping co. he used to ship my drop-out to me; IIRC, it only cost me $280...

Just my .02 and a bump 4 ya...
