Tony Allers aka CapriciousCars, of Hendersonville, Tn. owns the car. He put it up for sale previously but it didn't bring reserve. He hasn't sold the car. It's being listed by an agent. Like maryjane says, it's the engine that makes this car. It has the original Smokey running gear and engine, and everything that makes it work, just the way Smokey removed it from the original 84 body that was returned to GM. Tony freed up the engine and installed it into an 86 body.
The car was test driven at the Swap Meet in 2007 by Boomtastic of Boomtastic Racing

Ed Parks never drove the car. Tony told me that the car is capable of giving mid 40's MPG when tuned for performance, and capable of the area of 50 +/- MPG when tuned for economy. Horsepower is achieved by changing the tuning specs, also. Higher HP = Lower MPG & visa versa. Just like the big boys rate their cars for EPA.
Because of the high heat on some parts of the engine apparatus, everything must be kept precisely in its place. When the TV show spotlighted the car, they managed to get 2 plug wires against some part of the engine and it burned the wires. That was the reason no dyno numbers were given. And because the program was in the process of moving into a new studio, they didn't have any replacement wires on hand. Their production schedule didn't allow them enough time to purchase the type wires on the vehicle.
The numbers associated with this motor aren't Smokey's or Tony Allers'. Who by the way are the only two who have owned this engine while it was in running order. The numbers all come from outside sources who have tested and verified the output.
I certainly hope someone within the Fiero Community gets this car.
