1984 Indianapolis "Indy" Plates # 188 I've had these for almost 20 years now, just sitting in a box. I paid a lot for them and would like to recover that. I will take offers upto this Friday, if I can't get what I'm looking for I will put them on eBay, I wanted to offer them here first. I will sell them individually.

I'll give you $60 for one. "A lot" doesn't tell me exactly how much, so sorry if the offer is insulting, but it might be fair for all I know.

I left a price of $125.00 and now see it didnt go thru. I am confused on two plates since the front plate holder wasnt made yet from all I know. Also all those known to exist show only one plate so far so it is neat to see two exact. Lots of things to research on these cars. Rick B

States that issue 2 plates...don't care if the car has a front plate holder or not.. If these were actually issued by the Indiana Dept of Trans.. You would have 2 plates..

These are not Indiana issued plates from all I can tell. They are Indy plates as they used them for many years and would paint the year in the right corner over a sticker that could be removed to use the next year. There not embossed and are perfectly flat except the curved edge with all markings painted on. The background has the three Indy cars watermarked which the State of Indiana has nothing to do with. They recognized the plates as a 30 day tag is what they did. You can not compare this to the state laws. I have pictures of 1979 plates {below] except embossed with full state letters and numbers and date in corner is made on the plate as these and a few others with a "MAY" tag on them also, making it a 30 day tag.
Late ones were like ours as Pace Car marked only. Rick B
