After 24 years in the same house with only a double garage, I have moved into a newer house with 1,000 square feet of garage space. I am having the garage done with custom cabinets etc and have decided to have the floor done with one of those expensive floorings. Of course I picked out the flooring that matches my fiero. There is some fiero red in it:

That's a cool idea!

Can't wait to see a pic of the finished project (once it's done)

Nice! 1000 square feet is a nice sized play area. You need some flecks of gold mixed in there though......need to match the wheels too.

Fixed.
Not really... I know it's a water faucet and parts washers use... well... something else.

Oh, btw... beautiful place, man!

It's a $600 kohler cast iron 85 pound sink. The wife will never know that it's a parts washer!

I have a lowly fiberglass mop sink in my shop, plumbed with both hot and cold water, and it's one of the most useful (and most frequently used) "tools" I own. I also have a 20-gallon recirculating parts washer (Harbor Freight) next to it, but the simple mop sink gets a lot more use.

If you don't mind sharing with us, what was the approximate bottom-line cost per square foot for the floor? What system did you choose?

That turned out very nice. I don't think I'd want to part my cars in there.

And a place to drain crankcase oil/tranny fluid built right into the floor. Sweet!

The flooring system is called "Citadel Floor Finishing Systems" Their home base is in Blaine, MN 55449

The application was a 2 day process. The first day they spent 8 hours etching and cleaning the old floor. The second day they spent 8 hours applying the final coating. One day before I could walk on it and 2 days before I coud drive on it. It has a life time warranty. There are a few auto service shops locally that have this system and they haven't had any issues with heavy use. I really like it so far. I alread spilled some used oil on it and it just wipes up with a paper towel.

It was very expensive. The price was $5.00 per squar foot. But I know the reputation of the company and the product and I was prepared for it.

It is on my list, but I am running out of money. I kept some of the equity from the sale of my old house to do this garage properly. If there is money left, the lift will go in!!!

Where Is Your Beer Fridge At? How can you call it a garage without having a beer fridge in it?

Perfect! And save $50 for the beer fridge. Wait a minute, make that $100.
