Mac user here. Safari web browser. After reading this thread I disabled Javascript, but then I couldn't log in to the Fiero Forum.

My bad, I guess. The advice is to disable Java, but not Javascript... correct?

Oracle Java isn't truly an open platform. Its more of a hybrid now.
EDIT: I was going to go in to a tie-raid about slamming open-source concepts, but i wont do that today.

Yes...
If anyone used Java to access my Cave... Uninstall Java now. Cave does not use old Java Menu.
See
https://www.fiero.nl/forum/Forum2/HTML/124809.html If disable JavaScript... (Like FF and NoScript addon) a few minor things break in my cave but menu and site map still works.

I typed "chrome://plugins" into my Chrome browser bar and didn't see a java plugin listed. Somewhere else maybe?

Java... If there, Use uninstall in Control Panel. MS doesn't install Java but some OEs will.

Look in your control panel. If it's installed, there will be a control panel for it. You can uninstall through the "add/remove programs" CP.
