quote
PHOENIX -- Dorothy McGuire Williamson, who teamed with sisters Christine and Phyllis for a string of hits in the 50s and 60s as the popular McGuire Sisters singing group, has died. She was 84.

Williamson died Friday at her son's home in the Phoenix suburb of Paradise Valley, daughter-in-law Karen Williamson said. She had Parkinson's disease and age-related dementia.

The McGuire Sisters earned six gold records for hits including 1954's "Sincerely" and 1957's "Sugartime." The sisters were known for their sweet harmonies and identical outfits and hairdos.

RIP, "Dottie".

Was she the one that was Sam Giancana's mistress for years?

edit....never mind...it was her sister Phyllis.

Yeah, Phyllis was the youngest of the three and the lead singer who "ran" with the mobster.
I think she and sister Christine are still alive but both are in their 80's now.

I'm showing my age as I remember listening to this song on the old Philco radio when I was a wee lad. RIP.

Sad to hear,

I went to Junior High school, in Calgary, in the early '70's with one of her sons, Rex.
Met Doris a couple of times. She used to host our class year end party, before the Williamson family moved to Phoenix, in 1974.

Your music will live on, forever.
