It is sad. By all accounts, he was a very kind man. He became a vegetarian about 3 years ago. Maybe he was lacking some sort of vitamin, enzyme, etc when he gave up meat. I never understood some journalism. "He suffered a [heart attack] and never fully recovered". Really? Why not just say he died?

I enjoyed watching films he was in and I don't ever remember being dissapointed in the way he portrayed the character he played. I even enjoyed him being cast as the Kingpin in Daredevil.
R.I.P.

Patrick's Dad --- Keep in mind that The Green Mile is a VERY long movie (probably around 3 hours). Once you start watching, you won't be able to stop so don't plan anything else. I like Stephen King so The Green Mile was one of the "must see" movies when it came out. I ended up buying a copy so I could watch it again (and again). One of the 2 or 3 super long movies I'd be willing to watch. It was stellar. Truely an all star cast, too. In addition to MCD, there was Tom Hanks, David Morse, James Cromwell, Sam Rockwell and Harry Dean Stanton (among others I can't think of at the moment). It's old enough ('99 or '00, I think) that it should be in the "cheap" section if you're planning to rent it. Not sure how something like Netflix works with older movies but still probably cheaper than a first run. (If the price matters. To me, it didn't. It could have been $100 and I still would have bought it.)
