Yikes, seems really complicated at first, but looks as though intermediate guy is "holding capo" on the strings, so that what she plays below doesn't affect what near-right guy & bearded guy are doing. Still, a wondrously inventive concept.
Certainly a very visual act. If you couldn't see it happen, the music itself would not be that important. Pleasant to listen to, but (as with too many restaurants these days) the presentation is more important than the final product.
It would be extremely impressive without the capo. Can you imagine coordinating the sounds producible by plucking both end of a string at variable lengths, held a single variable point, with six, or maybe twelve, strings held at different points at one time?
Might work better if there was a double sound-box. Fingerboard notes are too tinny.
Still . . .

You'd probably enjoy This thread if you haven't seen it.
I didn't see the end of that thread with the post with the Key of Awesome video. It was really good. I won't resurrect that thread, but go check it out if you haven't.

That's pretty awesome. I had to crack up though, at about 1:50 the black guy does this "drip" sound effect. I've never seen anybody do that before, I discovered it accidentally about 20 years ago and use it routinely as a practical joke to make people think their faucets are dripping. It just killed me when I saw him do that.
