On Monday morning a fast moving storm hit the Chicago area hard...

From my place, and the damage around town:

In nearby Waukegan:

Despite the title, there's no confirmation a tornado touched down.

I've lived here my whole life and have never seen anything this severe before, or been without power for as long as we were. A record breaking 860,000+ ComEd customers lost power; crews were called in from several nearby states to help restore power. Ours first came back Tuesday night, but our block blew a transformer seconds later, and we went back into the dark until Thursday afternoon.
