This is going to compete at the 24 hours of Le Mans next year. Pretty cool vehicle if you ask me.

nope
trying to picture how the weight shift thru turns will work out
will it create a tipping force, which make the rear come out?
or will the lack of stance on the front cause it to push/understeer?
or worse - BOTH?

but - it is nifty - and I'd love to see a field of 40 of these things have at it.

Looks like one of the indycar concepts that did not make the cut for 2012.

Im glad it didn't make it.

I keep trying to not picture a 3-wheeler ATV.

I'd hate to see a faceplant at 200 MPH

I don't see it happening. Weight transfer on cornering loads could cause problems.

This looks more like a salt flats car than a Lemans car.

I don't like the look and have the same questions everyone else has about the front, but Dan Gurney is no slouch when it comes to thinking about race car design. He must see some potential here. Considering the light weight and what will certainly be a very low center of gravity, this may not be as bad as we might think at first. Or that could be wishful thinking.

i would buy that since its a full tilt haul butt in a straight line out there, but trying to turn that thing at high speed? Forget it.

Do a Google Search for Delta Wing IndyCar and you'll see an earlier iteration. I am glad INdyCar went with the SafetyCell idea. Hopefully it will actually come out next year.

I am wondering how it will corner too. It is almost a trike. Single front wheel trikes tend to be very unstable in sharp turns.

Is active ("live") suspension allowed in Le Mans? If so, there's no telling what those people have tucked away in there.
It's going to be interesting. Always fun to see something new.

I generally read or at least skim the articles, but didn't have time to with this one.

Sorry about that.

The car is supposed to be light but I don't get how its overall non traditional design might improve performance. We will see next year.

Innovation in racing is only accepted until the other guy doesn't think it's fair anymore.
