6 June, 1981, I married the love of my life, 30 years later, we're still hanging in there. We were introduced on my birthday 32 years ago. I have always said she was my brithday present. She's a better person than I am, I'd have run me off years ago. She's put up with 15 years of assignments all over the world in the military, she's followed me around the country as I made my way up the corporate ladder and stayed with me through the hard times. She gave birth to my two babies and didn't seem to mind raising them on her own while I was gone. Yep, she's a keeper. She apparently likes me, I don't know why. She even puts up with my passion for these two seater mid-engined monsters. Gotta love her. Her only fault appears to be her taste in men.
Yes, I've been blessed.

Thanks but, I give the credit to her. She has put up with my crap, my hobbies and my attitude for years. I have truely been blessed and she deserves better but settled for me. She has a huge amount of patience and her ability to tolerate me is amazing.
Although (in the beginning), she fooled me. I thought I was marrying into money. She had her own single wide and a two holer out back. Turns out she owed on the trailer and the two holer belonged to her neighbor.

Interesting. Yesterday I pretended to myself that I was dieing tomorrow and then I went and told my wife how much she has always ment to me and how lucky I have been to have her in my life for 26 years. By the time I was through she was sobbing and awash in tears. I then got what I really came for, a good old-fashioned backscratchin'.
It's the only way I can get a REALLY good one...
P.S. My marrage story is just like yours. I am indeed very lucky. Grats!

In my case, it would be the compost pile but, I get your point.
Spice cake? Nope, that's not her weakness and no, I'm not going to tell you any more. That information is on a "Need to Know Basis" only.

Congrats, Ron Some people will never know that feeling, because they never find the right person, but longevity like yours make people see that marriage can last if you and that right person work together. Mike

Yea, that`s true Boonie. I was only married 8 years, but in that time I discovered that I `m too selfish to be married. And, I realize that and live with it. Although, as I get older I am changing my mind a little.

Thanks Mike,
As I said previously, it hasn't all been strawberries and cream. It's been work and compromise on both of our parts. I've screwed up many times and let my emotions overload my ass. I've learned and so has she. My wife is a gem, I'm more like coal. But, the truth is, it takes two to make it work. Together we reared two fine adults that contribute back to this country and our society as a whole. Now, if I could just get some grandchildren, life would be complete.
