MAYBE IT DIDN'T...PERHAPS THE "METEOR" CRAWLED AWAY AFTER IT IMPACTED...!
To me it looked like something blew out of the ground because the grass was folded back, the rocks and dirt were all spewn out into the cul-de-sac and across the driveway,

So what's the mystery... a 30 gallon blue trash can fell out of the sky and made a small divot. Happens all the time. Now if the trash can was a different size or colour, that might be unusual.

Looks like the track of a very large one-ped creature to me.
I kinda liked this quote though: "Vinski said that the hole could have been caused by an object falling from a plane. "
Which probably would have been made of metal, no? I mean I guess it could've been ice and melted away, but I think it wouldn't have left as big a crater. Could be wrong.
