Hole
I think it 100 lb box of bacon. Rumor saw it--deftly snatched the bacon and left not even a hickory scent--except the Hole.

“When you see meteor showers in the upper atmosphere, they’re traveling 50 miles a second,” he said. “Even if it’s slowing down through the atmosphere, you’re still going to have a sonic boom. And it would have left something behind, it wouldn’t have completely disintegrated.”

MAYBE IT DIDN'T...PERHAPS THE "METEOR" CRAWLED AWAY AFTER IT IMPACTED...!

To me it looked like something blew out of the ground because the grass was folded back, the rocks and dirt were all spewn out into the cul-de-sac and across the driveway,

So what's the mystery... a 30 gallon blue trash can fell out of the sky and made a small divot. Happens all the time. Now if the trash can was a different size or colour, that might be unusual.

Looks like the track of a very large one-ped creature to me.

He's baaaaaaaaaaaaack!

I kinda liked this quote though: "Vinski said that the hole could have been caused by an object falling from a plane. "

Which probably would have been made of metal, no? I mean I guess it could've been ice and melted away, but I think it wouldn't have left as big a crater. Could be wrong.

It's obvious what fell from the sky, a HOLE fell from the sky!

And if anybody asks about the "Disruptor Shells" from Picatinny Arsenal, I'm not saying anything....

Plagarist!!
You're too late with that hypothesis--I offered it already about 10 posts earlier.
Think up your own.
